Vector Shadows
There's more than one way to produce a vector shadow. Below are some notes that you might find useful when choosing a shadow option for your final vector graphic. Each option has a particular use, but having said that they are not necessarily restricted to that use.
Option 1 Flat Shadow
This works for all uses, but especially suited to vinyl sign cutting. Looks less like a shadow, its flat without the soft edges, but remains a true vector image.

Option 2 Simulated Vector Shadow
Suitable for commercial printing and certain types of printed signs and displays. Fixed to one color of background (normally white) and the artwork remains truly vector.

Option 3 Raster
Raster shadow, ok for commercial printing. Good for certain types of printed signs and displays. For use on one color background (normally white). Will only look good on-screen at certain fixed sizes. Your artwork will be split between raster and vector. (The vector part is fully scalable, but the shadow part will not scale well at very large sizes)

Option 4 Select a specific DTP package.
If you let us know a specific DTP package to work in for example Adobe Illustrator, Corel Draw, Freehand etc. your logo will be drawn using the shadow effect available from within that application. Your logo will usually only open properly in the chosen DTP program.
